Lily und Karina hatten ihre Zahnarzt Termine. Dabei habe ich dieses Foto geschossen!

Visit from Bellingham!! / Besuch aus Bellingham (Washington)!!

Familienbesuch hatte sich angekuendigt fuer die Fruehlingsferien! Wir haben Grandpa Greg, Grandma Catherine, Eric, Jamie und Rachael bei uns untergebracht fuer ca. 2 Wochen. Ryan und Susan haben uns auch oft begleitet. Haley hat uns fuer eine Woche auch besucht und hat toll mitgehalten. Karina und Lily sind oft spaeter ins Bett und waren am Ende der ersten Woche bereits total ausgelaugt! Aber trotzdem haben beide gute Miene zum Spiel gemacht.

We had family visiting fuer Spring Break! For about 2 weeks we had Grandpa Greg, Grandma Catherine, Eric, Jamie and Rachael at our house. Ryan and Susan also joined us whenever possible. Haley spent her week of Spring Break with us too and was a good sport. Karina and Lily often went to bed later and were exhausted by the end of the first week! But they were pretty well behaved most of the time.

Wir sind viel gelaufen und haben natuerlich die Monumente angeschaut, wir (vor allem Catherine) haben viele Fotos gemacht und sind auch bei maessigem Wetter und kuehlen Temperaturen auf Tour gegangen.


We walked a lot and of course visited the monuments in DC, we took lots of pictures (especially Catherine) and left the house even when the weather was cool and cloudy/rainy.


Am Ostersonntag hatten wir gegrilltes Huehnchen und Hot dogs mit Gemuese als Festmahl. Es war lecker!

Easter Sunday we had grilled chicken and hot dogs with vegetables as our feast. It was delicious!

Am Montag nach Ostern haben Karina, Lily und Mama zusammen mit Grandma den Osterhasen besucht, der im Weissen Haus vorbeigeschaut hat. Wir mussten einige Zeit warten, aber hatten doch viel Spass und tolles Wetter!

Monday after Easter, Karina , Lily, Mama together with Grandma visited the Easterbunny at the White House. We had to wait quite a bit, but still had fun and great weather!

Karina lost her 1st baby tooth!! / Karina hat Ihren 1. Babyzahn verloren!!

Am 27. Februar hatte Karina noch einen wackeligen, schiefen Zahn. Im Foto sieht man den neuen Zahn bereits aus dem Zahnfleisch durchbrechen.

On February 27th Karina still had a wiggly, crooked tooth. In the picture you can see the new tooth already peaking out from the gums.

Aber schon am 03. Maerz, hat sich der kleine Babyzahn endgueltig verabschiedet. Es passierte in der Vorschule und auf einmal war der Zahn auf Karina's Zunge!

Natuerlich ist am Abend die Zahnfee vorbeigekommen und hat $1 hinterlassen.

But already on March 3rd the little baby tooth said goodbye forever. It happened at preschool when all in a sudden the tooth was on Karina's tongue!

Of course the tooth fairy came by that night and left $1 under the pillow.

Preparations for Christmas / Weihnachtsvorbereitungen

Anfang Dezember haben wir uns langsam auf Weihnachten vorbereitet.

Wir haben weihnachtlich geschmueckt und Kekse gebacken.

The beginning of December, we started preparing for Christmas.

We decorated 'christmasy' and made some cookies.
